Pools & Water Attractions
Public Pools and Water Attractions in Wood County are inspected annually for physical
safety, water quality and chemistry. In 2008 a
New Pool Code went into effect as a result of the broader variety of water
recreation facilities and chemical and safety requirements. All operators in Wood
County were contacted and offered to attend a free informational forum about the
notable changes in the pool
code. By December 19, 2008 all public pool owners/operators must comply
with the Virginia
Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act. This information is also being provided
to operators in Wood County. The act addresses the elimination and mitigation of
pool & spa drain entrapment hazards. The web links on this page will take you to
documents that fully explain the new pool code, the notable changes in the code,
and the new Virginia Graeme Baker Act.
