Wood County offers visitors a variety of activities at any of our 7 recreational parks, 3 rivers, many lakes, 38,000 acres of county forest land, and 18,500 acres of Wood County State Wildlife Area.

While in Wood County you can enjoy yourself year-round with all types of outdoor fun ranging from ice-fishing to disc golf.

ATV Trail Closure

UPDATE 8/28/23: Hazelnut Trail is now open.

Wood County Parks and Forestry Department would like to alert county forest users to an upcoming ATV trail closure on Hazelnut Trail, between State Highway 173 and Rangeline Lane. This closure is tentatively scheduled to occur on Monday, August 21st, 2023 and will last for approxiately one week. This closure is necessary due to ditch cleaning adjacent to the road/trail. Please visit our website or Facebook page for further updates as to the status of this project.

Seeking Medical First Responders for Powers Bluff!

Wood County Parks and Forestry Department is seeking Medical First Responders to be on duty during the Powers Bluff Park (Arpin, WI) winter sports operations and responds to emergency medical services.

We are offering a BONUS if you are hired. We will provide ALL DAY tow passes for any minor children you may have, to utilize the tubing/snowboarding/ski hills while you are working.  Thats right! ALL DAY passes for your kids.
